I rescue mostly cats, but will not turn my back on any animal in need. Most I spay/nueter/shots socialize with my pack and re-home. But there have been a few that I could not part with. So now to the question, do you feel the spirit of lost loved ones could be around these animals at time, guiding them on what would drive us crazy or comfort us at the time. It has been said that cats see spirits and I do beleive they see something. Now I am not crazy, please do not bash, but my vet , my friends, everyone I know always says they want to come back in thier next life as one of my animals. I know it's deep but do you think it's possibble that our loved ones comfort us through our pets? I like that feeling, how 'bout you!!!!

I don't think you're crazy. Animals are finely tuned to sense when we are upset or need comforting. They are also there to help keep us healthier- it's been scientifically proven that petting a dog for 15 minutes a day reduces your risk of heart attacks and strokes.
When I was 8 I lost my grandpa to cancer. He was the best person I'd ever met and loved chocolate covered cherries. Shortly after he passed my parents bought me a new horse. This horse would hug me with his head and neck and one day I had a box of chocolate covered cherries in my back pack. While I went to get his tack he had gotten out of his stall and dug his head in my back pack and ate my chocolate cherries. This was his favorite snack and would butter me up to give them to him.
Lost loves do guide us through animals to a better place where we find happiness.
I don't know if you've seen this movie but you should- it's called FLUKE.

I do believe that animals have constant contact with those on the other side and can be guided as to how to comfort us and thus we feel a stronger connection to those animals. Some cultures speak of people coming back as animals which is an interesting thought. We do all seem to bond with some animals better than others. I have had a few dogs in my life (we seem to take in the sick ones to give them a better life until they pass away) and have bonded with a few of them more than others. Some just seem to be connected to me in some way that even I don't understand. I have a dog that I have had since 1998 that from the moment I seen her hiding in the corner of a box I knew I had to have her. She is my baby and she knows it. I had a doberman when I was 8 years old that I bonded with and when my mom and i were in an accident she is the one that woke my dad up and wouldn't stop barking till he turned on the news, then the phone rang and it was the hospital notifying him about me and my mom. The day she died was heartbreaking for me. So yes I understand the bond between human and animal and it is so special that sometimes we just have to enjoy it and not try to figure out why.

I have also had people say that they want to come back as one of my animals. I love all animals and appreciate people like you who go above and beyond to help all of God's living creatures. However, I don't believe that people come back as animals. I think there is a Heaven where animals and people go to after their lives here on earth. In that heaven, no animals feel hunger or pain and are loved and cherished by the humans who are there with them. It is a nice thought though.

Well, it's a great thought and I don't know if I want it to be true...just love em while they're with you, I just put my 14 yr old Yorkie down a couple of hours ago, he was very sick...stroke, paralyzed, having seizures...as much as I love him, I'm glad he's not suffering. When I leave this world I really don't want to come back as any ones pet...I hope I'm in heaven with all my departed pets. In a big park with lots of fun! I feel so bad for the little guy that he suffered at all. I wouldn't want to think he was one of my relatives...LOL

I don't know about all that, but I do know that people can have special bonds with animals that come to them right after a loved one dies.

I know cats can see something...you know how they run around chasing nothing in particular? And sometimes they'll just stare into nothing and it holds their attention.

God works in mysterious ways...I feel like animals are one of them!
