To those of you who suggested that I try search engines, um, I did that already as you might infer from my question. Thanks anyway.

As with many countries, there are different building styles within Ghana. More modern buildings are made from concrete blocks and the more economical buildings made from timber and metal sheeting. In rural areas traditional materials such as mud and straw are used.

Have a look at Galen Frysinger's site - there's loads of photos and you might find something suitable... http://www.galenfrysinger.com/ghana.htm

I've uploaded a few of my own photos in a zip file... http://profend.com/temporary/ghana.zip, maybe the ones called 'Housing in Upper East Region' are the type of photo you're looking for. These were taken last summer in a village about 30 miles from the town of Bolgatanga. They're fairly typical of rural housing, methods of construction vary from region to region but remain similar.

My best advice is go to a search engine and use the image button. Type in Ghana.
