No. I was not born racist. My mother always taught me to love everyone and treat them all with respect no matter who they are or what color they are.
I must also applaud ice_skaters_mom's answer because it was perfect.

That is a little bit of an overstatement. I am not racist! I have a great respect for other races, especially those that hold on to their heritages. I don't know my biological father, so I have half of my heritage 'missing', and my parents didn't care a whole lot about their ancestors. I've noticed that, in general, minorities have more tight-knit families, too.
This doesn't go for everyone, and I grew up in a town where there were two black families, no joke! So I know how much racism there can be in the world.

Um, no. And actually that is a racist statement right there in your question! My daughter did not even know black people were called black until she was 4 and a little black girl told her! She called them brown (which is actually more accurate in my opinion) if she bothered to refer to their skin color at all, and this was only when she was describing what somebody looked like.
I volunteer at a shelter for neglected children and I bring my daughter. There are white children, black children, and Latino children there and she could not care less. And having grown up in the 80s (and I do think there has been progress) I just LOVE seeing her and a black child run up and hug each other. I would like to take a picture and make it into a poster. All this racist stuff is just stupid. My daughter and I both have friends of all colors and really I see no reason to make an issue of it.

No. We are all born equal. We are taught by example from our parents, relatives, friends, and those we wish to impress. In actuality, ignorance, becomes the chain holding us back from achieving enlightenment. If you do not become knowledgeable of others you become distrustful of them. The best example is President Truman, he did not acquire the education most would associate with the office of the presidency, and he was distrustful of those who held degrees. (Almost makes "W" look better.)

No one is born racist.
If you were to put a bunch of kids in a room of different races together, they wouldn't know that they were different and they would probably play together. No one actually knows that there different until someone tells them or implies through action or words.

Not all white peopel are like that. Really. Most white racists are like that because of their upbringing, from what I've found. Sad but true.
