Reboot your pc, the second you see the post sequence on the screen. You know the pc info when it's first starting, hit your "pause" button on the keyboard, this should freeze the bootup of your pc.

Now wait a minute, and see if you get the garbled green screen.

If you do then the card is BAD.
If you don't hit any key on the keyboard and it will continue to boot.

Now you can update the drivers for the card , you can try 1st from the vendor's site, and if not then from Nvidia's site.

If this doesn't clear the issue,
then uninstall the existing driver , restart the pc this will install a generic vga driver.
And after the restart re-install the latest driver for the card.

Hope that solves your issue.

Oops forgot, you can also try re-seating the card in the slot on the motherboard.

There is a chance that the fan that came with your card may not be working or is not plugged in. If that fan is not spinning then that explains why it works for half a minute then dies as a video processor gets hot very fast. If the fan is working, then my guess is you got a DOA and the card is bad and needs to be returned. I have seen that green screen before and it is not good.

It "might" be overheating. Check it's fan to make sure it is working. Usually these cards have Monitor programs that included monitoring the temp. You want want to check what temp it is running at.
Another thing todo is to make sure and old driver has been uninstalled. Possible Uninstall drivers and download the driver from nvidia. Maybe reinstall Directx, and check for any patches for the game.
