okay- so people who are against abortion say that there are tons of couples who would love to adopt your baby- and dont murder an innocent baby cause there are so many loving homes etc...
BUT- then what about all these kids in foster care, group homes, homeless on the streets, NOT being adopted... why doesn't someone adopt them?? if so many couples are just waiting to adopt.. why dont they? why are there so many messed up kids that get raped, abused, etc.. . because they are "not wanted" and DONT have a loving couple that waited for them... I'm sure they would have rather been aborted....

Exactly my point. Their answer to everything is "Adoption". They obviously have no idea what that life is like for a child. It's horrible. Like you said: going from home to home... and not even good homes. Most of the time getting abused and mistreated by all the "parents" they have to go through. An abortion isn't wonderful, but it is a better solution than birthing a child that no one really wants. Abortion shouldn't be abused, but adoption is really not the answer for everything.

Well, as a child who was adopted and in a family trying to adopt again, it's not that easy.Have you ever taken in some of the children in foster care or a group home?My parents have been foster parents for 8years and most of these children have major problems and some are too far gone to get any help.If someone adopts a newborn or a young toddler They can teach the child right from wrong and if the child was in a messed up home before by the time they're 6 they most likely won't remember it.That's why so many people want to adopt young children and babies. As for the children that are getting raped and abused, that's the states problem. A child can't be adopted if they're in their bio home, so the government and CPS should be taking them out of their home but they don't, so the children are stuck there.

Um, it's obvious that you don't know a lot about the adoption situation in America. First of all, there are so many people who want to adopt BABIES, especially newborns, that there are waiting lists that can go on for years and many of these couples get so desperate that they go to other countries to adopt a baby. There aren't as many people who want to adopt a child after babyhood, because bonding is much more difficult and sometimes the child has already formed habits and behaviors that are very hard to correct. Children in foster care are usually the most difficult children to get adopted because they are usually there because their family abused or abandonment them, which can really mess a kid up mentally. It takes a very special person to be willing to adopt a child like that. So, I hope that helps you understand the difference between the adoption situation involving babies compared to the adoption situation involving older orphans and foster children. There is a lot of information about this on the web if you Google it.

By the way, I'm not against abortion as long as the person is a mature adult who really knows what they want and understands the pros and cons of what they are choosing to do. However, I am against young women being coerced into doing it because they don't TRULY understand their options and the ultimate consequences of their actions.

Not to defend people who want to infringe on the rights of others, but most of the kids I know who are abused, their parents never tried to get them adopted. I was in foster care for ten years and have been a system activist since 1999. I personally know over a hundred foster children and very few of them had parents who were willing to let them be adopted at birth. Most of them were taken away by the state later and very few people seem to want to adopt a child rather than a baby because they think a baby will grow up to be more like themselves.

I agree. I've always wanted to know why the picketers, and the ones that hold huge pro life rallys don't adopt these children themselves...you know, kinda like- putting your money where your mouth is.

If the pro-life movement would rally for the laws to be changed across the country making it a bit easier to adopt- rather than have the red tape in the way which discourages some people.

I'm sure they would adopt, but they can't afford to, because of the high cost of fertility drugs, fertility clinics, and fertility specialists they go to instead. <<<
