The ANC in South Africa put bombs in shopping malls and other civilian target because of apartheid, to try to get the system to change. Now they are regarded as a legitimate party. When Al-Quaeda is allowed to participate in the political process without fear, then no doubt there will be another cause that people will believe can be brought to attention through "terrorism".

Terrorist acts occur to help the agenda of a political party/group get publicised in the media. It is like a form of advertising that preys on peoples fear.

Terrorism has always existed and always will. You cannot fight it because it comes from within the individual. Governments know you can't fight it. Even Thatcher had it right with the IRA. The British people ignored the IRA threat and got on with their everyday lives. This is the only way to beat terrorism, ignore it. Dont give them the airwaves that they crave.

Now the fact that the war on terror is driven down everyones throats on a daily basis is very worrying. Firstly, it is a war that is impossible to win and secondly the huge amount of attention surrounding it means that the terrorists have won. They are striking fear into the hearts and minds of the population.

Why on earth would the government suddenly change their policy on terrorism. Its not as if Britain had no experience with it. History shows that our current stance on the terrorists is a grave mistake.

It is this unfathomanable ignorance that begs the question. What if the terrorists are not who we think they are. What if this is coming from within. The medias rationale just doesnt make any sense at all.

That depends on the terrorist group.

Different terrorist groups have different reasons. The IRA terrorized to get Ireland to become independent of Britain. The NLFT currrently commits massive (unreported by western media) terrorist attacks in East India in the name of Tripuan independence. The Cetniks commited terrorism in the Balkans during WW2 and the 1990s against Catholics and Muslims in the name of racial supremacy. Al-Qaeda currently commits terrorism in the name of world wide expansion of Wahhabism and it's Radical Islamic idealogy. There are many reasons for terrorism, just not many good ones.

I don't think that reasons should matter because they're commiting terrorism and that's all that's important. Terrorism is wrong no matter the group and it can be fought by educating the masses.

Terrorists are people who fight an unfair war. They feel that they have their reasons yet only have a small group of people with which to fight. If you take the American army and put them face to face with the Afghanistan terrorists obviously the Americans would win. Terrorists know that they can't win if they fight a normal war so turn to terrorism in the hope that it will change their situation. If a big burly man who knew martial arts attacked you would you fight fair? Probably not. If you lost the fight you may think about attacking his house instead. It's the same with terrorists but on a larger scale. I don't agree with it but I understand why people do it. If they didn't everyone would have to submit to the larger powers and have no say in the running of their countries.

Terrorism is caused by people who kill to get what they want. In a way, we are all terrorists, but there are many of us who follow the rules that restrain us from killing for gain. Those who do not become restrained are the people society sees as true terrorists. There is not much we can do to fully stop the act of terrorism, for no matter where we wage war against them, another terrorist is bound to break away from the rules. Sometimes, terrorism can make its gain, but most often terrorists do not succeed, and the rest of society sees them as the threat they really are, and attempts to subdue them before they kill more people.

First off you have to understand that terrorists don't hate "America", they hate the "United States Government". Its a common misuse of vocabulary. "America" is a place, it is where "Americans" live. What they hate is what the "United States Government" stands for and tries to force on others. The government is supposed to protect our freedom, but instead sends military around the world in the name of "freedom". Problem? Well think about it. How do you think Americans would react if China set up a military base on American soil? Or if any other country did? Chances are Americans would be pretty angered, and want to do something to stop that government from doing so. Hence the terrorism that is affecting the country now. We expect the other country's citizens and governments to open their arms and welcome our government in when all the government is really doing is invading their country. All in the name of "freedom". If you ask me the government is not defending American's freedom, the government wasting tax dollars and lives.

The only way to stop home grown terrorism cells from forming is to shut down the mullahs, organisations and mosques who so openly support Jihad by allowing fundemental/extremist teaching to be preached in their 'establishments'

If our 'goverment' kicked up as much fuss about islamists calling us kaffurs, but they 'the goverment' know that it nwould be a signal for all out civil disobedience, anarchy and war, then mosques may not be here very long and we would realise we are at war after all, on our home ground against islamic radicalism in this country and the wider world..such as they 'radical islamists', often quote 'jihad' against us the 'satanic' west.

(Note how the Christian church is being undermined by new labour) soon it may be illegal to preach love and peace through Jesus Christ on the streets in this country because of the mad laws of 3rd way politics under new labour...meanwhile the trojan horse of islam has been welcomed into our country under the belief that islam is a gift, and that islam will bring a blessing of cultural diversity to our land. They even change or make laws for us to accept islam..meanwhile the Saudi religious scholars are sending their alternative schooled mullah recruits into the trojan horse enclaves such as central mosque, birmingham etc; while government look on the 'gift' with blinded eyes. So obvious its alarming, no wonder the BNP are gaining influence..just a shame they seem so lacking in charisma.
God Bless Channel 4 for viewing the undercover report on radical preachers of hate in our cities.
from a small kaffur voice in the wilderness of political correctness.

To many questions for this forum.
The war on terrorism is being fought all over the world.
It is a religious war.
The worst war to fight is a war over religion as no one will be the victor.
You ask questions that you should already know the answer.
The Government is not going to change and you and all the demonstrators are not going to change the course of this war.
This war will last at least a 100 years. Maybe longer.

Hhmmm you sound like yet another guy or woman who could extremely 'blame the west' instead of check out your guy or woman human beings and recognize that the subject is popping out of your guy or woman selves. Even non-Muslims are against the exploitation and killing of Iraqi, Afghan and Palestinian civilians- myself blanketed- yet you do no longer see me or different non-Muslims turning out to be terrorists & suicide bombers because of the fact of it, do you? i believe it is all the way down to brainwashing. the training of Islam are being taken and used to justify terrorism. Uneducated every person is being taught this twisted version of Islam. What Islam preaches is actual open to interpretation., and prefer it or no longer... confident the Quran and the Hadith might properly be utilized to justify violence and terrorism. checklist me in case you like, i do no longer care. Edit: @asker i did no longer say the subject is interior the coaching. I reported the subject is in the way it is being taught. I remember you announcing you think the 'Undercover Mosque' documentary.... properly that shows what I mean.... how that verse approximately being acquaintances with non-Muslims became being twisted by ability of the instructor to declare Muslims shouldn't affiliate with non-Muslims. See what I mean approximately the way it is actual open to interpretation? Edit: and how is my view 'one-sided'?? i'm somebody who's impartial and independent in this.
