You can live simply within a consumer market without accepting the value of the consumer market. Choose to live differently and stop worrying about money.

Realize that attitude and values are your own choice. Commune living is really difficult. Being homeless is really difficult. Better to take the minimal from society: cheap appartment, roommates, public transportation and work what you need as much as you need to survive. Honestly, no one lives healthier than the "consumer west". The problem isn't always society, it is how we choose to interact with society.

Agrarian lifestyle. Raise your own food, work up a sweat tilling the soil, breathe in fresh air everyday, drink fresh milk straight from the cow's belly, eat meat and poultry products grown organically, no steroids added, eat fresh vegetables with no pesticides added. Now, that is what I call really CLEAN, HEALTHIER LIVING..

We rented a trailer on a ranch in the country for about a year. It was great--few people, people helping each other, people trading things and services, carpooling to town for groceries, etc. It was a well-deserved change for the whole family.

i think its hard, back in Montreal people from McGuill used to sabotage the stores every now and then and didn't buy from the supermarket, u can try that but unless you own a farm its REALLY hard to grow stuff in your own place
