Marie Antoinette was very misunderstood. She had alot of responsibilities for someone so young.I think people always focus on the bad things she has done, when there are alot of good things she did as well. She did not say "let them eat cake",that is a bad rumor.

Marie Antoinette was not mean, she was just naive about the conditions the French people were going through.

I personally like her but I do think she should have done more as queen. She was one of the rare beauties, I think, and had a good taste in clothes.

All I know now is that I have forgotten many of the things I knew and liked knowing. Getting old sucks. I am going to have to begin to read again. I know now how little I do know. Wisdom does not come with age. I don't know who made that big one up......Good luck and I wish I could have helped. When I hit answer, I thought I could. I have got to be suffering from CRS.

I do not like her but I pity her. She was given to Louis XVI to marry to strengthen relations between Austria and France. From the start she was disliked because she was a foreigner. Then when she failed to bare an heir to the throne she was blamed for that too...even though it was louis who did not want to have sex because of a painful condition in which his penis was tightly connected to his foreskin... making it painful for it to retract. However she lived a selfish and frivolous life living lavishly with expensive clothes and lots of food and palaces, while the people of france were starving.

I liked her and felt sad for her because her mother married off to Louis and she had to go live in a strange country with no one from her own family to help her adjust. She was married off for political reasons. I think her life was for the most part very sad.
