Please show all steps and work i am very confused thx in advance.. heres the problem....person who shows good amt. of work and correct answer gets the pnts.

If the length and width of Rectangle A are 10 percent less and 30 percent less, respectively, than the length and width of Rectangle B, the area of A is what Percent smaller than the area of B. Thank you

Let the length and width of rectangle B be l and w.
Then area of rectangle B = l w.
For the rectangle A the length is 0.9 l and the width is 0.7 w
Then area of rectangle A = 0.9 l* 0.7 w. =0.63 l w
So the area of A / the area of B = 0.63 = 63%.
So the area of rectangle A is 37 % less than than that of B.

let the length of rect B be x and the width y
therefore, the area is xy
rect A has .9x as its length (90% of x, 10% less) and .7y
therefore the area is .63xy

area of A is 63% of the area of B
rectangle A is (100-63)% smaller than B: 37%
