Listen to Ashley, Lacuna Coil is way better than Evanescence. Others are Collide, Nightwish, Without Temptation, Guano Apes. Go to the following link and listen to their radio stream, you're sure to find all kinds of bands you never heard of that you'll like:

So far Ophelia's been the most helpful, but I will add to that:
The Azoic (light industrial)
Girls Under Glass (industrial)
Behind the Scenes (goth)
Mors Syphilitica (ambient goth)
Nightwish (what Evanescence can only dream of being)
Iris (light industrial- deserve much more fame than they have)
Covenant (industrial)
Bella Morte (goth)
Collide (ambient goth)
The Last Dance (goth)
Peter Murphy (goth)
Gary Numan (no he didn't retire after "cars")
Ontal (industrial with a medieval theme)
Delerium (the gentler side of Skinny Puppy)
VAST (I hesitate to label it but if you like metal and world music, just buy the first album and you won't regret it.)
I labelled these because the same people won't necessarily gravitate to everything on this list. Have fun and hope you find some stuff you like as a result of this question.

Great suggestions so far. I'd like to add "My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult", especially their early stuff ("I See Good Spirits, I See Bad Spirits" and "Confessions of a Knife").
Here's a fan-made video for one of their classics, "Do You Fear For Your Child": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZpbu5D6vqo
And here's an actual video of theirs, for "Kooler Than Jesus": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkfVQsOIevg
Also, consider plopping down $35 for The Black Box, a three CD box set of bands from the Wax Trax record label. I don't think any record label had more influence on early industrial music. Well, besides Industrial Records that is.
