No. I am more than what science can test. For the sake of argument: Are you, exclusively, your body or your mind or your emotions? Could you be something else that encompasses all your parts? If you don't call that a soul or a spirit, then what is it?
Have you ever been "inspired"? That is being "in spirit."
I agree that floating around in Eternity is ridiculous.
I won't be wasting Eternity doing that.

You have no idea how much i agree with you. I dont believe in god at all. But i think people who do are much of the time those who lack the ocnfidence to be strong on their own. when a devout person prays for strength for example they are really just subconciously leaking onto themselves a strength of mind that they were never able to tap into.
I dont think heaven or hell could exist. What would be the point. You go to hell because you are a sinner. So you are damned to punishment for eternity. What is the point it is eternity, you cant learn from it and you wont feel either. Same with heaven. Being rewarded for eternity, again you cant learn and you can not be happy forever.
Religion in my experience has been very hypocritical. I lost my faith when i realized how corrut religion was and how much i had been lied to. God doesn't and cant exist. Maybe miracles do, but they are again, an inner strength that a person had but didnt realize they had.

I completely agree. No one in history has ever returned from the dead. Jesus doesn't count, the bible is the only reference.
the soul may be a deeper part of the collective psyche that when manifested in reality strikes a chord with others deep symbolism. And soul is just the name we give it. but it's not supernatural. Its just another function of our brain, imagination etc.
humans are, by nature, egocentric. We first assumed that the earth was the center of the universe. Then we created a God that created this vast universe only for us?!?! The soul allows the human mind to come to terms with death. I feel this causes problems when reality confronts this.
The reality is that everything born, dies. Nature is violent, cold, and indifferent to life. So it is again, egocentric to believe that humans are the only being in the universe that lives after it dies...
good grief.

I think is the need of feeling special is the one that makes us try to find a pathetic excuse for our lives to even exist, a lot of people dream of immortality cuz they are afraid to die, and I guess deep inside we are all afraid of having a meaningless existence

Some people just can't accept the thought of non existence. To believe in eternal life provides comfort. Free country, believe whatever you want to believe...

It depends on what you consider a soul to be. I consider it my life force. It has been proven that the adult human body loses 21 grams at the point of death. To me, that is what the soul is.
