The gap is only in your mind! It has been established that we first started changing from hunter/gatherer/herder to farming in the middle east around 10,000 years ago, followed by the first town, in what today is Iraq, and before that, while some Cro Magnon groups opportunistically took advantage of the natural shelter offered by caves, others built dwellings of wood, covered with animal hide, as they followed the herds.

That is not really the biggest missing gap i have ever wondered about.I wonder how all of a sudden we Appeared on this planet. and in just a blink of an eye the dinosaur's disappeared? When i look at human evolution i wonder sometimes what they are thinking.I like to say, that i think of us as an interplanetary experiment and that earth just seemed to be the best place for us.First they had to get rid of the dinosaurs ,because they would have diffidently prevented our ability to flourish on this planet. The universe is endless and we just can`t be the only intelligent beings.I think to this day we are still being guided by sources oter then those on this planet.

no huge gap really
from cavemen to hunter gatherers
to base agriculture to collective agriculture which led to specialization- which led to small towns, which housed the specialty workers-masons pottery makers blacksmithing iron and metal workers stonecutters, etc.
the question you are really asking where did the tech come from that allowed such monumental structures to be built? there are no baby pyramids or practice pyramids.
the tech was artificially introduced by the lost civilization of Atlantis. you will notice there are pyramidical structures on almost all the continents.

not really, just fascinated with past life especially about Ancient Egyptians. I'm thinking the gap, not much happened or no one has discovered anything.
