My friend and I just watched Devil's Rejects and we are arguing over whether or not you could really cut someone's face off like they do and wear it. Please help us settle this debate.

Yes, all skin lifts from the muscle surface.
You actually have a thin layer of fluid between the skin and muscle and skin peals off easy from the underlying muscle and tissue. Example is skinning rabbits or hogs (a lot like people skin).
Plus think of all the face reconstructions. Doctors actually peal the face (skin) down to redo facial bones.

the skin is not connetced very well . yes it could be done, but it would flatten out very easily.

any Taxidermist can show you the prociedure in an animal that they are stuffing.

then people put deer heads on their wall. it is a styrofoam form with the animal's hide streched over it. face and all. the same would apply to a human. there is a layer of fat between the skin and the muscle. this would allow proper skinning.

Recently a woman in France was given a face transplant from a dead doner after her face was ripped apart by a dog attack.

So yep, if would seem perfectly possible to remove someone's face.

However, most of a person's features are defined by the underlying bone structure so you couldn't steal someone's face and then 'look' like them. aka. the movie Face Off with Travolta & Cage.

Well, not yet anyway :O
