Hippogriffs do not exist. They are a mythological creature like dragons or unicorns or trolls or gnomes. But mythologically speaking they do lay eggs because they are part bird, part lion I believe and birds do lay eggs. Lions don't lay eggs but I guess they're more like birds than lions.
