this friend of mine has had his problems in the past. we are both 18. he has allready been convicted of 2 felonies from robbing crap. he tried to kill himself once. i've tried to be his friend, as much as he would let me....

to make a long story short, he knows my pin, he got a hold of my card, and he emptied my checking account out, about 200 bucks (its really a debit card).

i have filed a report at the police station. they said they would call me tomorrow as soon as they got the video from the atm machine(what an idiot)

what wil happen to him? SHOULD i be concerned?

Some people just don't learn, but if you let him get away with this, he'll obvioulsy continue to do it. When he finally get's tired of going to jail, then he'll stop doing things that put him there. He thought you were weak and wouldn't report this since you were his "friend". Stay strong. If he decides to try to committ suicide, it sounds coarse, but that's a choice he'll make. He may say he's going to do it to try to get you to drop the charges, then he'll just continue to rip someone else off and do the same thing to him. Again, stay strong and continue to press the charges. Don't forget to change your cell phone number if you have one, I'd bet he'll try calling you.

I hope you changed your pin number. Did he get ahold of any other cards? What a jerk! We just had someone break into our place, I hate thieves. I'm surprised the cops will do anything to him, but they probably will if it's a crime against a bank. Call the bank and see if you can get your money back (cross your fingers).

It was admirable of you to try to be nice to this jerk, but some people are beyond help. He'll get convicted of theft and because the amount isn't a large amount, he may get a misdemeanor. On the other hand, it's dealing with a bank, so he might get another felony count.

Sorry to hear about this creep ripping you off. >:( If he's got any money (or his parents), you can try suing him in small claims court for the money, or see if your state has a victims compensation board.

He might do a bit of time in jail, but most of the time jail time is served by doing or selling drugs. Most everyone seems to get away with murder around here, but we ARE in the boonies, and the cops don't give a rip about ANYTHING down here.

It's noble of you to try to be his friend. But he has stolen from you, so he is not your friend.
You did the right thing filing a report with the police. You should notify your bank as well, if they have not been notified already. Good Luck to you, you need to think of yourself for a change.

really you should be saying an EX good friend of mine stole from me.....................basically he has peed all over your attempts to be a good friend to him and and that stuff, now is the time to walk away and not look back, for some one to do this to you is beneath contempt IMO..........

I am interested as to why he knew your pin tho..............as I am sure the police will be as well as the bank.they make it very very clear not to tell ANYONE for just these reasons...........

He is pretty much going to jail on this i would think.

You're being too nice. This "friend" violated your trust and stole from you, he has to learn that what he did is wrong. It sounds like he's already chosen the wrong path to go down. I would ditch him for sure. Who needs a friend like that?

if he really was a 'good friend' he would have never done this to you. The guy is creep who doesn't give a toss about you or your needs. Get this person out of your life, he is a total loser and a bastard.

You should be concerned that you may go to jail for kicking his *** when you find him and you won't have the money to get yourself out because he took your only cash!

He's not your friend, friends don't steal from friends. Drop him like a hot potato & get some better friends.
