i have sempron 3300 and a motherboard biostar m7ncg 400. i checked and sempron 3300 is a socket 754. the motherboard is a socket A. can these work together? because i bough a bare bones computer and this is what they sent me.

They make a Sempron 3300+ for both socket A and socket 754. I would assume that they would have sent you the socket A version, but to answer the question a socket 754 processor and socket A motherboard will not work with each other.

Being a socket A (discontinued cpu and motherboard), there is really no upgrade for it anymore. You're best best is saving some money and getting a newer AM2 socket or 775 socket motherboard. (That will include, cpu, motherboard and memory, probably harddrives.....aka new computer).

socket A is a 462 socket, so no you don't
