One thing that will help you out tremendously figure out when you are ovulating is to get a BBT thermometer ($8.00) and take your temperatures at the same time every morning and chart your temps. This will just about ALWAYS tell you if you are ovulating. It definately helped me figure out when I was ovulating and so I was able to get pregnant on my first try (just found out Monday!). Go to www.fertilityfriend.com for free charting. It's great!!! (You can also buy Ovulation Predictor Kits at the Dollar Tree for $1.00. They are also at Wal-Mart.)

With that said, did you have any other cervical mucus? There are plenty of women who do not get the eggwhite mucus. The watery mucus and creamy are both fertile mucus also.

Also, how far are you into your cycle? You could have just not ovulated yet. I thought I wasn't ovulating because I wasn't getting the eggwhite either for a few months. Come to find out I was just ovulating late. Last month I ovulated on cycle day 14. This cycle I ovulated on day 19. There have been some cycles where Ihave ovulated as late as day 21 (and still having a 28 day cycle). I did not get or at least notice the egg white mucus with every cycle. :-)

Don't worry if you didn't have the eggwhite, I would just chart your temps and your cervical mucus. I guarantee you it will help you out SO much!!!

Sometimes mucous is hard to detect, even if it is suppose to be slimey during ovulation preparation.
I can tell you that it typically last about 3-4 days, and starts about 3-5 days before ovulation.

A better way for me to tell Im preparing for ovulation (intercourse should occur within 1-4 days before ovulation, if you are trying to become pregnant) is I push down on my lower abdomen where my ovaries are, and if its really sore on the right or left side, it means the follicle is growing, and preparing for ovulation in the next few days.
The moment the pain is gone, I have ovulated that day, and its probably too late for intercourse, unless you get on it ASAP.

Ovulation preparation typically starts on day 10 after the first day of menstrual bleeding. Ovulation typically occurs 14 days after start of menstrual bleeding.

If your periods are regular, you are ovulating regularly.

You could tell much better if you track your basal body temperature as well as cervical mucous and position throughout your cycle.
When you track your temperature, you will notice a temperature spike and at least three consecutive days of high temperatures then a drop. That temperature drop is your confirmation of ovulation.

you should visit your gyno to get advice and tests from there instead of random people on the Internet.

by the way, i never really know when i am ovulating other than some minor pulsing cramp-like feelings in the ovary regions occasionally once a month-- when i am assuming i must be ovulating.
