tomorrow where i live it is supposed to be the coldest day of hte year and you arent supposed to go outside for longer than 45 minutes at a time and you have a high chance of getting frostbite and all and the wind chill is supposed to make it like negative a lot of degress and this girl in my math class was telling us this and then she was like "GIRLS remember not to wear earrings tomorrow!!"
i dont understand why she said that,does anyone else know why?

wow i never ever heard of this before...i am just thinking metal might make you feel alot colder...i can't stand this cold weather..who here is wishing so bad for spring to hurry up and get here? i say my advice wear the earrings just double up on ur clothes and protect ur face with a scarf and ur head as well...

Since most earrings are made out of metal, the metal conducts the cold onto your earlobes? I got this from the source listed below, but personally, I wear earrings in the winter every day.

I did a tiny bit of research and found that the metal posts make your ears feel colder.
I however never take my pearl earrings out and i can say that my ears are still in tact.
Just wear some cute earmuffs if you're nervous

I don't think that wearing earrings in cold temperate can affect u in the way. So, u go girl and wear ur earring. Get ur biggest earrings and wear them to ur classmate in math that nothing happen.

Earrings won't disturb your ears in cold weather but don't remain too long outside in any severely cold weather, you can get frostbite.

well i'm guessing she's not the smartest tool in the toolbox. you can wear earrings but there is a chance that they could get frozen to your ears. i wore hoops on a winter day and it was cold that they froze and they had to thaw out at school. i would advise against hoops.

if its cold enough it might make the metal (earing) really cold and hurt your ears (freeze em) it would prolly just be unconfortable. i think you should just ask her what she ment by that because i wear my earing when its really cold n nothing happens. she just might think something happens.
