I have chosen to name my daughter Gianna Elizabeth Margiotta. Everyone seems to hate this name...and I'm not sure why. What are your opinions...be honest please!

Margiotta being the last name...
Gianna because it's italian...as well as the last name...and Elizabeth because I'm carrying on my middle name.

She could have many nicknames such as:
Gia, GiGi, Anna, or even Gina!

I think its very pretty. She can have many nicknames. The italian teacher in my school (I don't have her, I take Spanish) is Giovanna. I think thats pretty too but Gianna is easier to pronounce. Elizabeth is a pretty middle name too. J/W is Margiotta the last name, or a 2nd middle name that I have never heard of in my 14 years ?
EDIT: I just realized that you said Magiotta is the last name.

I love the name! It almost sounds royal or something. I'm not sure if I like Elizabeth with it (no offense since it's your middle name too), but it sounds ok if you like it. It almost sounds like you need a middle name that's not so plain like Elizabeth, since the rest of the name sounds unique and everything. Something like Gianna Sophia or Gianna Isabelle or Isabella. Just some ideas.

I love the first name, but the first & last name are very Italian (sounding at least ) and Elizabeth seems a bit out of place in there, but if you like it...go for it!

I really like it! It's much better than most of the names people ask about on answers. And it comes with two great nicknames, Gia and Anna. I think anyone who says they don't like it is just jealous that they didn't think of it first!

It's different but then again my daughters name is Felicity Elisa and everyone told me not to name her that but of course I did and I even had a family member hate that name so bad that she will not call my daughter by her name instead she calls her T. Yep just a letter instead of her name.

It sounds really Italian. If you're Italian then GREAT, if not... you may want to re-think it. Going for something that you're not (like going for a Native American name or something) just seems like you're trying to hard to make it unique. You could put a unique twist on an average name. Like I knew this girl who spelled "Nicole" as "Nichol"... Even still, it's YOUR baby right... who cares what other people think as long as she is happy and healthy!
