I am 4'10 and 95 lbs. My thighs are HUGE and my stomach has tons of extra fat on it. I am on a diet right now where I barely eat but it's not working. I play softball and soccer a lot but they're only making me fatter. I am the fattest person in my class. My friend is taller than me and weighs 65 pounds and considers herself fat. What should I do? By the way if it helps I'm 12.

My 65 lb friend isn't anorexic. She eats like 10 times more than me. She just has high metabolism.

I play DDR whenever I go to my friend's house, which is a lot, but that doesn't help either.

I play butterfly, hysteria, twilight zone, running through the river jack, dream a dream, speed over beethoven, the whistle song, and break down on light and sometimes beginning and rarely standard.

I believe you are not fat at all. Sounds like you are healthy and your legs are big because of muscle. Playing sports streghtens your muscles. If you are worried about a little stomach then do sittups about 3x's a week. If you friend only weighs 65lbs, Different people have different body types. Being to skinny is not healthy and can hurt you in the long run.. make your teeth rot, because your body will start looking for ways to steal calcium and it is just not fun to lose your teeth before you are 15. Being 12 and worrying about things like this can make you a nervous wreck. Live your life like you want too. Not like everyone else. Be yourself. Keep up with the sports and the taller you grow.. the slimmer you will be and healthy on top of it all. You also make sure to take vitamins. That will help also to stay fit. Too maintain a good diet is to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Have 2 snacks a day also. Not eating is not helping. It is only going to make you gain more weight later on. Just regulate your meals. Breakfast - 1cup of cereal with milk and have some orange juice too. Lunch- eat a sandwich with turkey and cheese and apples instead of chips or carrots. Dinner- limit yourself to one serving of anything you want. But eat 2 hours before you go to bed and do some excercises before bed. Drink alot of fluids.. like water you can add flavors to the water. Try this and see how well it works. Make sure you excercise though.. stretching, sittups, pushups.. simple excercises.. since you are already playing sports. I wish all the luck. you seem very smart and I hope that you make good decisions.

Hmm, you sound right were you should be...But if you are really worried, talk to a nutritionist. There is no harm in eating healthier, but dont start "restricting" because its not worth it seriously. You just gain the weight back. Also if you are self conscious about your thighs and tummy try some Tae-Bow, it is seriously fun. Or try some other cardio like jogging. Do you have a dog? I'm sure your dog would love a jog. Do some squats and legs lifts, these will give you leaner legs.

Good luck, and remember it will take a little while to see results, so don't get discouraged!

65 pounds for someone taller than you is not a good weight. You shouldn't be comparing yourself to her.
You may be just fine. You may just have a lot of muscle. I think my thighs are huge, but it's mostly muscle. Most teen girls think they're fat because people in magazines and in ads are airbrushed so they look 50 pounds lighter than they really are. You're probably fine. You seem to be living a healthy life. Also, when you're in your early teens, you will grow A LOT, and sometimes your weight goes up before your height does. My sister used to have a little extra fat, but then she started growing and now she's fine.
And don't go on crash diets like you've been doing. They're NOT good for you, especially because you're still growing and you need a lot of nutrients.
If you're really worried about your weight, I suggest seeing a doctor. Their opinions will probably be better than the opinions of people online.

Wait a minute. You're 12. You shouldn't be worrying about something like this. The height and weight ratio that you gave is perfectly healthy. And by the way, if you barely eat, your body adjusts to your diet and extracts more calories from your food to balance out the lack of nourishment. And that type of diet can make you a little fatter.

I think that people should not be called fat unless they are over 200 pounds and are not exercizing. Dont worry about it! XD 95 pounds is not considered "fat" and if you keep thinking that you are fat then youll think you get fatter but its not true your NOT getting fatter. When you exercize the results dont show up 4 months and if you just keep starving yourself you dont have energy to play sports and you might not be as energetic. I do not think that you sould be worrying about being fat because at 12 your still in the growing age and i think that when your about 16 (if you keep playing sports and stuff) that youll lose the weight! so my answer is NO your NOT fat! XDDD

you should not be on a diet where you barely eat! Your body needs good nutrition and if your parents aren't making sure you eat right, they should be ashamed of themselves.

Sounds like you have a warped body image. A long time since I was 12, but I know it must be bad to feel the way you do. See a school counselor or clergy person and tell him/her about it.

as for your 65 pound friend....she must be anorexic...I feel sorry for her and her family

Look, oyu have to at more than 1200 calories per day, because if you don't your body goes into survival mode, and saves every possible particle of fat it can. Also, don't go on crash diets, they will backfire, and after you finish one you will gain back even more weight. Your friend is not fat, believe me. Exercise does not make you fatter. Exercise can make you gain weight, which is actually muscle, while toning your body. Also, if you're 12, you have a lot of way to go, and you can make mistakes this early that will stunt your growth. email me at rachi_b53@yahoo.com for extra help.

No sweetheart you are NOT FAT you are only 12 years old and you haven't stopped growing yet you will have a growth spurt soon and become taller and your size will become in proportion, eat healthy food, do not eat junk food, that is the only diet you need to be on a normal one. Continue with your sport as it is important exercise for your age and don't listen to your friend as she is the one with the problem because she is under weight and that can have very serious problems for her over all health, so please do not starve yourself any more, you could be doing a lot of damage to your body at your age. if you don't believe me get your mum to take you to a dietitian.

Absolutely not. You are a girl. You will have curves that make you feel fat. 95 LBS is an acceptable weight at that height. You would fall in the middle of a growth chart that WIC does. In the 50th percentile. Good Luck!

That sounds about right for your height. I have a niece about your height she has weighed from 80lbs to about maybe 150 when pregnant. Because of your height if you go to small it looks really bad if you go to heavy it looks bad. If I were you I wouldn't worry. Don't keep telling yourself there is something wrong u'll only make it worse. You dont want to be 60lbs either> I bet u are just right....but sometimes its hard to look at ourselves and be happy with what we see. You wanna see big legs i'll show you mine :-) and I have had a huge tummy for a long time....I've always had weight issues. when I was 12 I wasnt 95 pounds....Dont listen to none of those snot nosed kids. OK!! :-)
