No! I hate Macs. I used one last semester for a photoshop course and I hated it..I just did all the work at home on my PC. Macs are annoying and would pick a PC over it any day. I think people in graphic industries etc might use Macs more, but I know there are people in those industries that use PCs too. As for movie-making, what kind of movies are you talking about? Youtube blog type movies, special effects with after effects 7...? Either way, I play around with movie making too and there are plenty of great editing programs for PCs. So basically, I say get a PC.

Back in the "old" days when macs were actually macs (powerpc cpu) it would be the better choice (it was twice as fast). But now, macs are nothing more than PC clones (intel cpus) without a bios and hard to get software for.
As one said, the far better choice is a real pc with Linux or even windows, alot of programs/software to choose from. Mac has ZERO advantages now, it's day is over.

Mac OS less than OS X are not worth it because likely to crash just as PCs did in old times, but then from usage point of view I see no reason to go for OS X because true movie studios use Linux and as a consumer watching movies PCs are already good.

it is almost a loaded question. Apple computers use the comparable hassle-loose hardware as the different workstation. you purely pay a top rate for it. On a overall performance foundation, you will get extra useful hardware for the comparable volume of money in case you pass the workstation path. in general this debate comes all the way down to the OS. OSX is geared up upon UNIX, and is rather extremely useful in case you the right thank you to apply terminal. yet maximum folk do no longer, and in basic terms use the graphical person interface, which grow to be designed to accomodate senior electorate and idiots. actually, it grow to be designed to cover issues from the person so they does no longer mess them up. once you're a wannabe skill person, it is generally problematic. once you're literally a skill person, it is not, considering you're utilising the terminal in any case and you in all danger did no longer even word that the GUI grow to be attempting to foil you. the only time this determination is cut back and dried is while you're making plans on utilising some application that purely runs on abode windows. An occasion of this may be any game ever made that grow to be properly worth enjoying. while you're making plans on doing any gaming, get a abode windows workstation. in case you don't make plans on doing any severe gaming, prefer to get the main bang to your dollar, choose some outstanding skill with outstanding eye candy, and don't prefer to ought to challenge approximately viruses... you ought to truly in all danger pass with a linux distro. Ubuntu is large for human beings in basic terms commencing out with linux.

In terms of stability, MAC OS is more stable; does not crash as much as compared to windows. Also, there are much much LESS viruses "designed" to attack MAC OS as compared to windows. When you are buying the MAC, make sure you are buying th one with the MAC OS (operating system), & not the one that they installed the windows inside (they have them now - MAC "shells", but windows OS)... coz' even if you have a nice MAC "shell" & the OS is still windows, makes no difference from a PC.

Hope this helps. ^_^

Get a Mac.
