Hi Chris
I'm a professional astrologer and I have no intention to stop using Pluto in my astrology. I strongly doubt any other astrologer will see it differently. I've seen its affects too much. There was an interesting post on this sorta question a few days ago - you might want to search for it.
Astrologers use lots of points besides planets in analysizing astrology - including the Ascendant and Midhevean (which are literally points), asteroids, the Moon (technically NOT a planet) and many others.

Pluto will not have an effect on anyone that was born before they decided to take the planet status away from Pluto. For those born after they dedcided to do that, it will have a greater effect. It seems to me that we will probably just revert to using the ancient planets for horoscopes.

Scorpio is ruled by Mars so it won't have any effect.
