My daughter works full time, has health insurance which she pays for, has co-pays on perscriptions. She goes to the drug store and has to pay her co-pay but the man in front of her who is picking up 2 perscriptions, doesn't speak English, gets checked out and owes nothing. Why are immigrants entitled to ANYTHING they didn't pay into yet hardworking americans foot the bill ? Something is VERY wrong with this picture. Our tax dollars fund all of this.

So because he doesnt speak english, you just call him an immigrant? Is he a citizen? What do you mean you don't know? Because he's not speaking ENglish, does that mean he doesnt have a job? What, you don't know? Does he have a better plan than your daughter?
Tell her to mind her own business in the pharmacy line.
You're both idiots.

Not a very well phrased question in my opinion because it assumes that immigrants aren't working people and furthermore that speaking English has something to do with being a "hard working American".

My answer to your implied question:
Some people may be immigrants with bad English, but are hardworking citizens of more talent than your daughter. Apparently, these people have better health care plans and job... Might I suggest a retraining program?

Because rich people WANT immigrants here. They lower the wage pool for U.S. citizens and it makes them richer. To the person that stated immigrants are taken advantage of: Why are they here? To get taken advantage of? NO! To make a better life for themselves. They would make $500/yr in the homeland. They make "a killing" here compared to home, and U.S. workers pay the taxes for the rich, so put this all together:
$2/hr immigrant wage + working class taxes = very happy rich people.
Which by the way the rich are the ones that make all the laws. They bribe ahem "donate" or "contribute" to politicians' causes, and get the laws that they lobby for, passed. When was the last time you got something passed for law? Funny huh? If the working class people could "donate" more OR (this is a big one) we had people of better conscience in our public offices, we might get some laws passed favoring us once in a while. You say stop joking around I know, but it's true.

I split with my common n law husband in Nov. He was the one who supported us and our daughter. Well I didnt expect us spliting and thought I had all the time in the world to go get my GED and go to school and get a decent job but thats not happen now so I go to get foodstamps and medicare for me and my daughter until I got my GED and get a job which i been out of work for 5 years, I get approved for food stamps but since my ex pays me 80 bucks a week for child care which goes to the child the last i heard, they said I make too much money to get it. So you can be poor as dirt and the dang government wont help. I am in pretty good health as far as I know haven't seen a doctor since I was pregnant 5 years ago. But thank god my ex is a good daddy and pays for her insurance. So if immigrants are getting help because they poor then where is an americans citizens help when they poor? I think immigrants should get help but illigels should not. I think i should be getting help but I am not.

Immigrants aren't entitled to anything more than the rest of us -- they're entitled to equal treatment when they're doing well, and equal care when they are down on their luck. That gentleman may have better health insurance coverage than your daughter, or he may be so poor he qualifies for prescription coverage that way. It's also possible he paid for the prescription online before coming in to pick it up (I do this myself, as a matter of fact).

In point of fact, most immigrants in this country work twice as hard as the rest of us, for far less pay. They do the jobs the rest of us wouldn't be caught dead doing. Our tax dollars would help your daughter if she was out of a job and struggling to make ends meet. Why? Because she's a human being who deserves compassion and help when she needs it, and who should be more than happy to pay taxes that help others when THEY need it. The same as anybody else who lives here. You should open your heart and let go of your hate.

Becaused the US refuses the concept of social medicine. No oone should have to have private health insurance. No one should have to have private prescription insurance. No one should have to mortgage their home to pay medical bills. NO ONE.

But your government cares more about spending billions upon billions of your tax dollars to pay their citizens to destroy other countries, and is then using illegal immigrants and other trumped-up issues to distract you from their horrific waste of your money and lives.

Now, just how is it that you know that that man in front of your daughter hasn't paid insurance and simply has a more comprehensive plan than does your daughter?

I'm a Canadian. I live in country sufficiently civilized as to have universal health care. And I sit back and laugh at most of policies of your country - that is when they don't leave me absolutely furious at their stupidity.

Most likely that immigrant is way more of a hardworker than your daughter is. Biggots tend to think that immigrants (specially illegals) don't work and don't pay taxes. The true is they do the hardwork (ask yourself who cooked your fast food, did your yard, clean your carpet, paint your fence, etc) while "whites" do the hard whinning. They pay taxes taxes, but most of the times don't get tax returns, or a retirement, to mention only two of the benefits you get for your taxes (if you pay them, of course)
Fortunately biggots are generally stupid; unfortunatelly they are too many.

Hmm...how about because your daughter works full time, therefore she CAN AFFORD her medicine, whereas this "immigrant" CAN NOT AFFORD HIS/HER MEDICINE.
You're an idiot anyway, just because someone doesn't speak your language doesn't mean they are an immigrant. And second of all, should this person just go waste away and stay ill because you want to keep all of your money for yourself? Do you have a problem with helping people in need? Apparently so. Not everyone is as lucky as your daughter. Not everyone is as capable of working.

We are not being smart consumers and we are giving away our Medicaid. Get the book "Healthcare for Less" by Michelle Katz. I purchased the book because I read a great article she wrote about negotiating with your doctor...it worked...she talks about saving money on perscriptions and I have saved a ton!!!!!!
