I keep finding huge lizards in my backyard (1-2m big) some are just a bit smaller and some are Blue-tounge lizards. I'm just wondering if they dangerous at all? Oh and I live in Australia...if that helps

Lizards that big could mean that they are dangerous. You get harmless lizards that size, but at the same time you get dangerous ones. The lizards you are talking about are probably grey, which means that it is highly unlikely that they are dangerous, whereas if they were either yellow and black or red and black (the Gila Monster), they would be dangerous!

Most lizards, even blue tongues, have a great of bacteria in their mouths. Thus, if you get bitten, it's best to wash the bite with disinfectant as soon as possible. It sounds like you have goannas running around your backyard. Don't harrass them and you'll be fine, but if you do get bitten, wash, wash, wash. Blue tongues, by the way, don't get even close to 1 metre in size... well, either that or you have freakishly large lizards in your area.

Blue tongues like to eat snails and fruit and such. Goannas will go after a small animal or bird if they're able. Their tails can bloody hurt too. Best bet is to not try and annoy them and you'll be fine though. Keep an eye on small kids around them, too.

some large lizards are dangerous due to their size and the damage the can inflict with their tails, teeth and claws. Also as mentioned before, some have germ filled mouths like the Komodo Dragon. There are only 2 venomous lizards (the Gila monster and Mexican beaded-both live in Southern U.S. and Mexico)

Some of them are. lizard saliva could be lethal because of the germs it carries, example: the Commodore lizard.

I wouldn't think any of them would attack you by any means, but don't go chasing them around and catching them, that's not a good idea. Chances are they're just looking for something to eat, which is a benefit to you.
