A broken neck doesn't always kill someone. You can also become quadriplegic, which is paralysed from the neck down. The neck is the most flexible part of the spine which contains the spinal cord if that is severed it is death, if the nerves are damaged quadriplegia.

A broken neck doesn't always kill but it does leave one seriously damaged.....paralyzed, brain damage (loss of memory)

They must be treated with the utmost care

They can be put in traction which takes presser off spine and vertebra's while healing this involves laying flat facing down (face in a soft round donut shaped)

They also can ware a halo which stabilizes the head and spine this is screwed into the fore head around the head and rest on shoulders depending on how sever damage.

No matter how bad it is all bad months of rehabilitation, pain, brain damage, etc.
Imagine how many wish they were dead
My friend did

The ceck contains part of the brain stem, and the beginning of the spinal cord. If death is caused by a broken neck, it has probably severed the spinal cord, which carries nerve impulses from the brain to the rest of the body muscles and organs. If the organs of the body stop receiving nerve impulses from the brain, the organs will stop functioning.

A broken neck can crush the spinal cord which may result in death. The spinal cord contains the central nervous connection between the brain and body and runs through the vertebrae. Not every broken neck results in death though.

Sometimes when a person breaks their neck, it will injure or sever their spinal cord. If the cord is injured in a certain place, it could effect breathing and the person could suffocate. And of course, the spinal cord has tons of nerves. There could be a sudden loss of nerve supply to the heart and blood vessels resulting in "spinal shock" and death.

Because the cervix is closest to the brain and all blood supply is cut off immediatley.
