What is an example of a simple machine lever (first class) that
increases effort force; may change direction of effort force. that's resistance force is over a shorter distance, and that is a rigid bar free to move about a fixed point (fulcrum)? A see saw?

What is an example of a simple machine that is a wedge, that changes direction of effort force, and is is a modified inclined plane with 1 or 2 sloping sides? An Axe?

For your two questions:

1. Not a see saw exactly, but a see saw with one end longer than the other (the end you push down one), with the load you're moving on the other (short) end.

2. An axe and a knife have 2 sloping sides. A chisel has 1 sloping side. A screw might fit in that category too, with 1 sloping side.

You're correct on both machines.

Another example of a first class lever is a crowbar. The fulcrum is closer to the resistance than to the effort, so the effort force is increased. The direction of the effort is changed as well.

Another example of a wedge is a knife blade.

See-saw and axe work for me, though I might have gone with a doorstop for the second one, like a wedge.
