We give money to the homeless but are we really helping them out. Some use money for food and shelter and others use them for drugs and alcohol. They sit there and bag for money while scaring tourism away. Some cause trouble and some dont. Some actually need the money and some are too lazy to get a job. If we stop giving money, then will they go somewhere else? If we keep giving them money, then when they will move somewhere else?Ask yourself this, are we helping them out or making the situation worse

The answer is not to throw money at the problem, but the answer isn't to turn our backs on them either.

We need to have case workers who can get to know the people in homeless shelters, and figure out what will help them get back on their feet.

Some of them might need help getting off drugs. Some may need treatment for mental illness. Some might need some coaching or help finding a job.

How can you get a job when you've been sleeping on the streets, you look dirty, your clothes are ripped and dirty, you don't have a resume or a phone number? People need support so they can get back on track.

So you are right, that it doesn't help just to give people money. But we need to come up with good solutions to the problem, not just criticize.
