Its really quite sad when you think of it. There is no way that I would want either G.W. Bush's Legacy or Tony Blairs.
I feel quite sad for them both...If both men should read this I bow my head and with all honesty I must say...Gallant attempt Lads but unfortunately you didn't have the means that Churchill had, to write yourselves a kind place in history.
No matter what, I understand how great the pressures that must press down on your shoulders each day...How people mock you and Media twists everything you say....I understand you are human and that everyone must march to anothers drum, who ever it may be.
It may not mean much to either of you Great Men,.. these words coming from a common Canadian man..But I would like to say Congratulations Gentile men on all your accomplishments!
No matter what everyone says...you still got a chance at the drivers wheel, and not just anyone can say they ran a Country!

Both will be elevated later, just as Churchill was.
The press today did the same thing to President Truman in the late 40's his rating for reelection in 1948 was uncartable and now he's considered one of our the greater presidents
Both should be considered visionaries on the war with terrorism...

Bush's legacy will be the botched war in Iraq. He should have pulled the troops out and let the civil war commence, if the side we liked didn't win he should have sent the troops back in.
Blair's legacy will be...
On visiting the Queen in England, Bill Clinton asked her what she did to make the English people respect her so.
The Queen replied "I surround myself with people of great intelligence."
Bill is quite shocked for he was always surrounded by people that were stupid enough to make him look good.
"How can you tell if they are of great intelligence?" Bill asked.
The Queen picked up the phone and called Tony Blair.
"Mr Blair" She said. "If a person is a child of your Mother and Father and it is not your brother or your sister who is this person?"
Tony thought for a moment and replied "It would be me your majesty"
Bill was quite impressed and ran back to Washington and decided to try it on Al Gore.
"Al" he said. "If a person is a child of your Mother and Father and it is not your brother or your sister who is this person?"
Al was silent for a long time before saying, "Let me get back to you."
Al then rushes over to capital hill and poses the questions to his liberal buddies but they all shake their heads. In desperation he turns to the conservatives and calls Newt Gingrich.
"Newt" he says "If a person is a child of your Mother and Father and it is not your brother or your sister who is this person?"
"That would be me," Newt replies.
Al now rushes into the oval office screaming "Bill, Bill I have the answer. If a person is a child of my Mother and Father and it is not my brother or my sister then it's Newt Gingrich!"
Bill shakes his head in disgust and says, "No No you idiot it's Tony Blair!"

Say what you will about the state of things in Iraq. One thing that Bush will not be known for is being soft on the enemy. He has shown consistent resolve in the face of his naive detractors. His legacy will ultimately prove quite positive.
