Medieval England, huh? Medieval England didn't know the Americas existed. The Middle Ages, ie the Medieval period, ended in the 15th century. The 1400s. Columbus's voyage of 1492 was after the Middle Ages had ended, and England didn't start trying to colonize the New World until the 16th century. The 1580's the be exact. England was attempting to colonize initially during the Renisannce. On top of that England didn't colonize 13 colonies initially, but two really large colonies. The eastern half of the US was divided into the Virginia Colony and the New England Colony initially. The Virginia colony was the larger of the two, in 1620 it streched from about halfway down the South Carolina coast north to about three quarters of the way up long island and west to Lake Erie and the Mississippi River. The Pilgrims were supposed to have originally settled in the far northern end of the Virginia colony, but were blown off course and ended up in the New England region.
