I think House of 1000 corpses was the worst movie ever made. I dont think it was scary, I think it was just plain stupid, had no point. Texas chainsaw massacre grossed me out so much that I didnt even finish watching it. I gave up on going to the theater to see new movies out because it seems like they just keep getting sicker and sicker. I do want to see that new one though about where only the little boy is able to see the thing in the house and the adults cant. That is the only one though, Saw, The Grudge and anything else to have come out recently was just really gross, and I have seen hundreds of scary movies.

Not neccessarily a big fan of the really gory stuff, but in a class I took on the horror film genre (yes, a CLASS) one of the major themes was that horror films tend to reflect the fears that a culture has at any given point in time.
For instance, Frankenstein reflected that generation's fears about playing god, 28 Days Later (no, not the one with Sandra Bullock) is about unstoppable pandemics, etc. So I guess it would follow that recent horror movies such as Saw, Hostel, etc. all deal with the destruction of the body. And when you look at our society's obsession with youth and beauty, I guess that would scare a lot of people.

Obviously a lot of people don't like that kind of stuff... the amount of body parts and blood can be disturbing... Don't force yourself to watch something you don't like (in my case, I get scared, but it doesn't gross me out)
The Hills Have Eyes (the newer version), scared me and I even had nightmares, because of the little girl that got snatched by the freaks... I have a baby around the same age, and it would be HORRIBLE if something like that happened... It gives me the goose bumps! :S
So far I think THE grossest movie I've seen was "Hostel" .... OMG...
I couldn't even watch it all the way through, I saw it on PPV, and I'd go to the kitchen and get me something to eat (yeah.. believe it or not I can eat while watching...) But I did find it really scary!

ACTUALLY "SAW 1,2,3" ARE MY FAVORITE!! AS SO IS "HILLS HAVE EYES"...=) HONESTLY!*

I THINK "TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE THE BEGINNING" SUCKED @SS..BIG TIME!!! IT WAS NASTY, POINTLESS....IDIOTIC!

THE FIRST "TEXAS CM" WAS COOL..THE SHERIFF WAS 'A L O T ' MORE FUNNIER, AND JESSICA BIEL IS SUCH A MUCH BETTER ACTRESS THAN THAT 'FAST AND THE FURIOUS' CHIC...

HOUSE OF 1000 WAS REALLY STUPID..AND TOO BLOODY.

I THINK THE ONLY BLOODY, TWISTED MOVIES I HAVE COME TO LIKES...WAS "RESIDENT EVIL" AND "SAW 1,2,3"..A W E S O M E!!! =)

PERSONAL OPINION!
