Okay my head feels like it is going to explode. Whenever I see something or just start thinking about it my mind just blows it up a hundred times. I don't have ADD and I had my head scanned twice. This just started and I don't know why. I mean it feels like I could blow up something with how much pressure builds up in my head.

Lets say I am thinking about a cat I can see it and hear it and turn it around and everything i know about cats comes up. It just builds up and I have to shut down and then start up again.

The thing is you have to learn the process of controlling the mind. We as humans have to take the reigns of the mind and senses and not let them control us. First their is thinking then if one focuses on that thought then it becomes feeling and then continuous thought it envelopes us. That is an uncontrolled mind. go to harekrishnatemple.c for the process of chanting the maha Mantra which is the quickest and easiest way to control the mind. If a thought comes into your mind replace it with the mantra which cleanses the mind . Also Read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada- which will give you more understanding of the mind, and reality and the soul and karma, and the purpose of human life etc.

This very much sounds like either Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder. If you are not able to quit thinking or ruminating about something even though you want to, you need an antidepressant. You can't talk your way out of this until an antidepressant stabilizes your brain chemistry. I have had clients who feel 100% better and are amazed to finally feel in control of their own brain. Do NOT go to a family doctor, go to a psychiatrist. Going to a family doctor for mental health is best only in an emergency when you cannot see a psychiatrist immediately. Just call your insurance and ask for some referrals for a psychiatrist.

I've read all the above answers and they don't really answer what is happening to you. It could be OCD. It could be something other than that. Whatever it is, it is probably a brain chemistry problem that has started up and needs medication to re-balance the chemistry gone awry. Don't wait! Get an appointment very soon with your family doctor who will either prescribe medication to re-balance the chemistry or refer you to a specialist who will evaluate the symptoms and then treat it so that you can think clearly again.

Are you drinking a lot of coffee? It might be good to skip anything with caffeine for a few days.

It also might help to engage in any exercise you like until you can hardly move.

Then sit down in a comfortable place, take nice slow deep breaths, and think about something that makes you feel calm and happy
