Prep means to prepare, to get ready for. For example, a prep cook, gets all the ingredients ready for the chef to make his menu items. Prep before surgery, better run when you see them comming with the razor. lol

Well, school-wise, it's means College-Preperatory. But personality-wise it means someone who wears nice and name-brand clothes and spends excessive time on their makeup and hair (girls anyway). Check Wikipedia for more.
