I have a Pennsylvania conceal carry permit. I was wondering where to look to find out what other states I can pass through or be in and carry legally. I don't think I can in New Jersey, but I was also wondering about Delaware.

I don't get why people say don't carry if your not the law. In my state it's a right to carry as along as I have the permit so I do. On top of that I am receiving my lethal weapons certification so I can carry for work.

Thank you everyone for your input. I'll choose best answer when the minimum time is up.

Your permit is only good in Pennsylvania. You should see that information in your paperwork. You shouldn't be worried about it unless you are planning on carrying it on your person out of state which would be a bad idea because of the stiff punishment if you are caught. Usually the only people who can carry a concealed weapon in all 50 states are government agents who warrant the need for such.

Your safest bet is to put your piece in the trunk or locked glovebox (unloaded) if you're driving. If you don't need to carry while you're at your destination, that would be best. If you do, contact the State Police or Department of Public Safety in the destination state. They will let you know the current state laws, and what you need to do to make sure you are in compliance.

[Jim Ignatowski - many states have reciprocity agreements, honoring CCW permits from other states just as they do drivers licenses. If you get the Utah, Nevada and Florida permits, you will be covered for about half the US.]

You have to have a concealed carry for any state you enter with a gun. Each state is its own governing body, and concealed carry is State governed.
