Whats up people? I am thinking about moving to Las Vegas. The most important question I have is what parts of the city are relatively low rent, but located in a safe neighborhood. Any help is greatly appreciated. Plus any extra info I might need is also helpful. Thanks.

Well, as I'm sure you know by doing your research, LV real-estate is not exactly inexpensive.
Dunno what you're used to, so what do you mean by "low"? Average for a 1-bedroom on the West/NW side is about $800-1000/month. These are almost always exclusive of utilities BTW. Your location is really going to be driven, by what you plan to do. East Side, Henderson & Green Valley are good options to look into.
I would suggest going to review-journal.com, and rent.com and checking the online apartments.
Most importantly, while about 3000 people a month move to the valley, about 1500 leave. Realize you're moving to a desert, it does get hot in the summer 100- 110 daily for weeks is not uncommon.
Also, it's a 24 hour town, with alcohol and gambling easily available. Be honest with yourself, if you don't have a little self-discipline you can get into financial trouble-fast. These three factors are the most common reasons folks give for leaving.

You'll need to tell us what your definition of "low rent" is. There's places just off the strip that are cheap cheap but high crime. There are places 10 minutes away in quieter neighborhoods that are maybe 2-3 times that. I live in Southern Highlands and my apartments start at $850. It's quiet and I forget I live in LV. Henderson is pretty reasonable and depending on where you are you're 15 minutes from the strip.

As the first answerer mentioned...you can't live in Vegas and be a tourist...you'll go bankrupt.

Go to lasvegas.craigslist.com its the best website about moving to las vegas. There is so much information on where to live, there is houses/condos for rent, people renting cheap rooms in their house or apt, or sublets. If you are not sure where you are going to live, there are many hotels/motels that do weekly rates till you get out there and find where you want to live. Here is some hotels that I know do weekly rates budget suites of america, extended stay america, and amerisuites.
