I heard it was "BOARD CERTIFIED"... you have to look for ( in addition to experience ) Otherwise, you can research some horror stories of being butchered.

I had plastic surgery done about 3 years ago.

First of all, I went to the big big city where those plastic surgeons have great reputations, who's well known so if he mess up my face, he will be doomed in that big big city for life!

I also checked if they graduated or trained at Yale University. Those cerfitication should be hanging in the office or lobby room.

Talk with each surgeons. Go make an appointment for consultaion. Tell him what you exactly want, and listen what he has to say. Get out if he says something like "you will look better if you this together~~" and offer to do more than what you planned. Those doctors are doing what they are doing for money. They don't care how you will look actually! Go find someone with passion! My doctor actually told me that particular shape that I wanted won't look good in my face...so he suggested other shape... the result was awsome!

Expect to pay big money. They are expensive for reasons! Do not go somewhere because they are cheap! Plastic surgery is just not a thing to bargain.

I hope the best for you! When I was done with surgery, I was so happy that I went to Outback and treated my family! I wanted it that bad!

also, make sure the clinic is clean and well organized.

1.) Meet with at least a couple surgeons in person. Plastic surgeons always conduct in-person consultations, sometimes free, sometimes at a slight fee. This gives you the chance to meet them, size 'em up, ask questions about the surgery, etc.

2.) So, on that note... ask LOTS of questions. Don't be afraid to drill them. This is a big decision you're making, so ask about the surgeon's background, training, experience, etc. Ask about the surgery, recovery time, risks, prices, etc. Here's a nice list of questions to help you:

3.) Make sure you've done 1 and 2. Seriously, those are the most important 2 steps. Just be active in your research, realistic about your possible outcome, and you'll be really happy with your procedure.

4.) You can also refer to SignatureForum.com - they list plastic surgeons and other service providers and include patient/customer satisfaction ratings and feedback.

Good luck!

Ask your regular doctor if you have one for a referral. Check the medical board web site in the state in which you live (assuming you are in the USA) to see if any board actions against the surgeon have been made. See a few different surgeons and get their opinions. Do not rush into this. Take time to do your research.

Most importantly, make sure the reason for your decision to have surgery is an internal one. Other people should not make this kind of decision for you.

Plastic surgery is very safe nowadays. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Fly2india4health Consultants. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients, as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of Healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for Fly2india4health Consultants. She paid just 20% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her. Hope this helps

Check with the Certified Board of Plastic Surgeons. If a plastic surgeon is a member he is going to be good. If he's not, then I wouldn't take a chance. I think that your local C/B/S should be listed in the telephone directory or the operator could find the listing for you, or you could check Google.com for their address and tel. number

How about seeing a good shrink instead.

There is no need for anyone to mutilate their body. Your problem, in fact, has nothing to do with your body and everything to do with the space between your ears.
