I recently lost my virginity (age 18) and am now experiencing vaginal bleeding, much like a period but light. I am not on BC. My periods are usually heavier. I have bleed every time I have had sex. I last had sex a week ago but I have been bleeding since yesterday. My period usually starts the last couple days of the month and I have always been irregular (I change every so many months). Does it sound like an early period or trama from sex?

Doctors please give your thoughts. I will be seeing a doctor if this persists but I would like to get a few peoples opinion.
No stupid or offensive comments/answers. I will report abuse.
Thanks.

If you have very irregular periods, it's hard to know when bleeding occurs whether it is menstrual flow. (I had cycles that varied between 1 month and 3 months.)
I learned Natural Family Planning (NFP) and it made the situation MUCH easier to manage. By charting symptoms, I knew when I ovulated. This allowed me to distinguish periods from abnormal symptoms. Years later I was able to identify between-period bleeding which turned out to be caused by uterine hyperplasia. (The doctor at the urgent care clinic examined me and said the blood was coming from the right place, and dismissed it as normal. My record-keeping proved otherwise.)
It takes awhile to learn NFP and reap the benefits, and you might not be able to wait that long. So I agree with visiting your doctor. But I recommend NFP anyway for the future. It saves a lot of needless worrying. Links to NFP resources below:
