I want to become an elementary school teacher and I saw that penn foster has an online program for it. Will it make a difference if I take an online program rather then going to a local college or university?? Has anyone gone through penn foster??

First of all I think on line education is a fast growing and wave of the future in higher education. However, there are some things to consider. First of all make sure that the on line programs are accredited through nationally recognized accreditation agencies. Most will require some "campus time" in an undergraduate program. As for the Penn Foster program, it seems that they do not offer bachelor Degrees. you will not be able to teach elementary school with an Associates Degree. Do some comparison shopping, you find a better at a local state college.

You are not going to be able to be a teacher unless you go to a community college and/or a university. An online only college is not going to meet the requirements that an employer is going to want you to have to work at a private or public school.

Physically attending class in a local college or Unniversity makes for a better impression and reference point, but some on-line classes won't hurt.

As long as your school is accredited, it shouldn't matter if it's online or not.
