I love Avent. They have different nipples for different ages and they are super easy to clean. The pump is great too.

The Avent bottles leaked all over the place. I hated those! I also tried the Ventaire's. They were nice, but Dr. Brown's stole both my son and I immediately. Fill only to the green line at most and you'll see the bubbles in the "straw".
The nipples were really nice and soft like the real thing. Unlike the advent and ventaire that were stiff. Also, they Dr. Brown's have the "x" cut. That's why I switched from Ventaire. My son had acid reflux and I needed to add cereal to the formula so he'd keep it down. This was the only bottle that had this option.
Plus, it was easy to give him oatmeal later when he was teething or sick. He'd always take it from the bottle. And, now that he's 10 months and using a soft straw sippy...when we came back from vacation and he didn't want to eat for me...the x cut was wonderful. He didn't get fustrated by the slow flow of a regular bottle. Plus he had the comfort of a bottle.
PS: For easy cleaning for Dr. Browns I take the bottle apart after the feeding. I have a bowl of soapy water always by the sink for the parts. I just put the parts in the bowl until I do the dishes. That way nothing sits and it's a breeze to clean. PLUS, no gassy baby!

I have been wondering the same thing - i am yet to give birth but want to get some bottles in case breastfeeding doesnt work out.
To all the people that said you should be breastfeeding - i wish they would shut up. Its your choice.
I was going to buy Avent but i a concerned they might leak now and havent seen the playtex brand in Australia.
good luck i hope you find one that suits

I like the new Gerber ones; they sell different tops to match up with your nipples if you want to do both breast and bottle.
I hated, HATED my Avent bottles. They leaked if the caps weren't on tightly enough, but they ALSO leaked if the caps were on too tightly, so you had to find the exact perfect balance, or you end up with milk all over the floor all the time. Not worth the hassle!

I used to be an infant nanny, now expecting first child on my own, and I have experiences with probably all the bottles you can imagine. Personally I must say I liked the most playtex ventiare and avent {I bought playtex for my baby}.
