Personally, Nick here doesn't have what it takes. Fandom gets you nowhere. I think someone of the Christian Bale or Hugh Jackman type could do it, but no Cage.

Yeah, I don't like his acting. They could have gotten way better actors to play such an amazing role.

WELL, I think I'll leave the voting open on this one - while I can't say whether or not Nic will do a good or even decent job as Ghost Rider, I always imagined that they would pick someone who started out the role like a kind of James Dean "rebel" type, and by the time the movie was done ended up being a kind of John Wayne / Roland the Gunslinger (Stephen King) type of cowboy accepting his fate.
I used to read the comics for a long time, but this was back in the late 80's - a lot can happen in that length of time.....

..dude, you're so superficial. All that matters is the character, not the actor. As long as the role is butchered or merged with other Ghost Riders, I'll be fine. As long as there is hellfire, I don't really care. But they butchered Mephisto's name and the origin is different. Cage sucks for the majority of recent movies, but it may be a surprise hit.

I'd love to know just who you think would be the best Ghost Rider?
Granted, I'm a fan of Nic Cage, but even I know he's not good at everything. And I'm wondering if he gets any better than the previews show him to be... don't hold my breath, right?

I actually think that he will pull it off. Given, I know nothing about the comic, but only that Cage loves comics. He got his last name from Comic book star Luke Cage. Anyway, I know he can pull off action movies as he did in Face/Off, The Rock, and...well i'll leave off Con/Air. But perhaps if you just go to the movie with small expectations...which it looks like may happen, you may just be surprised.

For the life of me I cannot imagine him playing that role, but Cage is an excellent and versatile actor who has done some amazing things in his career...and some crappy things but I forgive him.
