I got a nose job after high school. Originally, I felt awful that I had it done because for me, it was feeling badly that society was judging me because of the bump on my nose (having a Jewish nose (I'm Jewish by the way)) and I felt that I shouldn't have to go through with this just because having a big nose with a bump is not considered beautiful by society's standards. At the same time,
I also went in thinking that if I had it done, that I'd feel more confident, self-assured, and that guys would take more notice of me (in HS, I always felt like the 'ugly duckling' and thought that feeling of ugliness would instantly go away once I had it done.)

Well it's been sev. years now, and I can say I am glad overall that I had it done in that I used to think about the way my nose appears a lot and was self conscious, but now it's not really a thought it my mind.
also, I went to a really great surgeon who did a very natural job. Most people wouldn't know I had it done. .. at the same time, it hasn't changed my life 100% as I thought It would. I still basically look the same as I did before (albeit, w. a straighter nose:) and it hasn't removed my self-consiousness or changed my life as significantly as I thought, though I may be a little more confident and less self-conscious as before
I think it's important to have plastic surgery for the right reasons. If you are really self- conscious about some part of your body that could be slightly altered from surgery and the surgery is low- risk, then I think it's a valid reason to have it done. But realize it won't change your life around completely and that while it may give you a boost in confidence, it's not going to be the magic thing that fixes every problem in your life. But again, if having the surgery will make you less focused on that particular aspect of your body, then I think it is worth it.
Make sure if you do want to have plastic surgery you go to a top rated surgeon-- it is worth it to pay a lot to have it done by the best of the best. It's your body and the results may be permanent, so it's important you go to someone who's an expert and does a lot of surgeries.
Remember though above all that beauty IS skin deep and no matter what you are beautiful inside and out.

Yes I have. I probably have the most expensive face in Dallas. And, yes, I would do it again. Be careful though, Choose a plastic surgeon with the best of credentials. Do a lot of research. Good luck.
