Why are there no internal cheat codes for most of today's games?

Old games for older systems and some for new (the cheap ones) have internal cheat codes that u can activate by finding the combination of correct button sequences and use them. But all the games anybody would want to do that doesnt have them. Why? are the game developers getting forgetful, or are they simply frowning upon the idea of conforming a game to be played whatever way a person wants?

I know this may not sound right at first, but they probably do not enable cheat codes on most modern games to make it more fun. Think about it. When you cheat, you are not playing the game how it is supposed to be played. The game designers designed the game to be played in a certain way, and by using cheat codes, you are defying it. Look at Halo. Would it really be that fun to have infinite health or camo, just to go raging through all the levels? It would take no skill, time, or strategy, which would end up being a waste of money. Also, when you look at what multiplayer cheating would be, it would not be fun. It would end up just being who has the best cheats or who can use the cheats the fastest.

Besides, the gameplay and graphics in most games these days are already great enough, who needs cheats to add to a game?

Cheat codes were originally used to play test a game. The codes were left in the game simply because it was easier to leave code in rather than delete them and risk upsetting the code of the game.

because cheats are for people that suck at videogames and they need to win because they always lose....unless you have already beat the game...then i guess it if ok to use cheats....
