Okay as some of you might know Barbaro was the 2006 Kentucky Derby winner. But during the Preakness Barbaro was badley hurt and got pulled out of the race. After that he need tons of surgry that ended his wonderful racing carrear that he was great at.

But i believe that Barbaro can make it and this year he will be back on the track (not racing) but he WILL be there walking around the track with his old jockey. And his lucky number that had him win the Derby.......#8

This year if you believe, watch for Barbaro on the news or just on some racehorse shows to see whats-up with him. Also remember that if your a Barbaro fan like me to pray EVERY night that he will be back.... The Undefeted Barbaro! <3

im sorry, i do wish he would get better but the fact is he is getting worse. he keeps getting infections and having more surgurys. how long are they gonna let him suffer? until he dies on the surgery table? it sucks but he aint getting any better. i am a big fan but i would rather see him put out of his misery than in pain and continuous surgerys.

I really understand where you are coming from with this but i think that some people need to look at where the owners are coming from... I am in the horse community, I do not race, but that is not the point I have met many other people in the racing business, each and every person that i have met has deeply loved their horses. For the many people in the racing industry it is not a hobby it is a lifestyle, there are only a few cases where the owners are really in it for the money. I really wish that these people who are constantly saying that "racing is bad" or "racing is inhumane" would just keep their opinions to themselves. All races always have certified vets on hand and most will even have farriers too. Now i want to ask you, have you ever looked into other equine events? There are many such as pole bending, barrel racing, cross country, hunter jumper, roping, trail, endurence, dressage, cutting, bronc riding. and many, many others. Have you looked into their stats on death and ingery rates? The point that i'm trying to make here is that in every equine event there is some type of risk for both horse and rider. I hope that you can see the other side of the fence as well as your own.

Sweet heart- the surgery didn't end his career- the injury did. The surgery saved him. Yes he's a great horse who will contribute a lot to breeding. But I don't see him as being much more than a stud.

That being said- you should be angry at the trainers and owner. They told the jockey club that he was having flare ups before the race and were more worried about winning money than they were the horse. So they buted and ran him anyways.

May barbaro, live in peace and die in peace.
Just to make money, he should not be brought to the track.!
Pain is pain. can we understand?

I'm sure he will be able to be put to stud. He will NEVER race again or ever be ridden, but he is with a great team of vets and trainers who will do their best to make the rest of his life comfortable.

He will never race again. He is still in serious condition. They only reason they have spent all that time and money on him is that he will make alot of money as a stud.
