Since as far as we know there is only one universe we can detect, NASA didn't discover any universe.
Theoretical cosmologists are working with string theory and other ideas about the beginning of the universe, and one part of string theory is that our 'universe' is only one of an infinite number in the "multiverse". But we have no way to detect or see any of the others (at least at this time).

NASA had discovered this universe is the only universe.
This universe is observable. The multi-verse are only imaged.
But it is a significant achievement already because it can see galaxy billions light years away.
After all, it may not be NASA's job to discover another universe.
The prefix uni stands for only one.
