It keeps saying there is no DS card inserted. What did I do wrong and how can I fix it?

If its on automatic mode, try to reach the home page where u can do settings. Then switch to manual mode so u can choose what game to play on the menu.

I think your putting it in backwards or the thing is just dusty!! Just blow where you put in the card and blow the dust off. The card's cover side should be facing you when you put it in from the backside

You have to insert the game, if it is take the game out and put it back and turn it back on

take out the game and blow into the slot. blow on the bottom part of the gsme. it's just dirty
