No. It has been proven that diets make people gain weight. The biggest problem is not that people are eating too much, it's what they are eating. If you want to loose weight, start making better choices when it comes you your meals. Instead of a hotdog, opt for a skinless piece of chicken prepared with a little salt and pepper, oregano and lemon juice with a vegetable stir fry. For a snack, opt for a handful of fresh vegetables or a piece of fruit rather than that bag of cookies or chips. If you are hungry, you can eat a ton of plain fresh veggies or fruit and gain next to nothing. People who go on diets never stick to them and a mere 6% of people actually come out at the end having lost weight. But eating a healthy balanced diet combined with regular activity and exercize can allow you to reach your desired weight. So instead of dieting, just start making healthier food choices. Like I said you can eat a ton of fresh fruits and veggies that will fill you up and you won't gain weight.

If you want to lose weight yes it makes sense to diet. You can diet and not be hungry. Make sure everything you eat has food value and low in calories.

Your body is a machine and needs proper nutrients and vitamins to work properly. Just eat 6-7 small meals a day and excercise more than you eat. While jogging about every two seconds you burn a calorie so a hamburger at 500 calories = 1000 seconds of jogging to burn off.
