Because it's a lie.
If my president wants to start a war, give me some real reasons.

A question like this is the ultimate pinnacle of ignorance. IF Bush wanted to do something about the perpetrators of 9/11, he would have sent all the troops into Afghanistan to ferret out bin Laden and his gang of thugs. But instead, he had a hatred of Saddam Hussein and just used the 9/11 attacks as an excuse to get him. SADDAM HAD NOTHING - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING - TO DO WITH 9/11. Meanwhile, the son of his family friends, the bin Ladens goes free, probably working on another attack at this very moment. What are you going to say Bush lover, when al Qaeda attacks again? Let's attack Monaco, or maybe Romania? But, by all means, let's not go after the actual perpetrators of the deed.

Because Iraq and Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11.
Why not invade North Korea because of 9/11? That would make just as much sense.
Why not declare war on Sweden? They had just as much to do with 9/11.

The Iraqi people had nothing to do with 9/11.
It was Americas allies the Saudis that did. The iraq war is simply a deadbeat son vycariuosly trying to live up to daddies expectation by trying to correct his fathers failings.
There are a lot of issues around the world to be addressed, if the US Government put as much money, resources and effort into solving our environmental issues globally then maybe they could win back some credibility from current world opinion.
Iraq has achieved nothing but sensless slaughter of tens of thousands of people , for a little man to try and live up to his fathers expectations.
The Iraq war was a done deal as soon as Bush swore the Presedential oath, he just needed a reason. the fact that the reasons were complete lies doesnt matter now..

If Bush would back up his using of 9/11 in Iraq with something at all credible, we wouldn't have such a problem. He thinks they're linked so he screws our country on a whim. You can't just gamble an entire nation, when you have no idea on how to play the game at hand.

9/11 is not the reason for removing Saddam. That decision was made in 1998, long before 9/11.

No doubt your question is going to bring the liberals out of their hiding places to avoid any real answers and pretty much slam you.
They are simply unable to connect the dots - to come to the realization that, yes, we have some serious enemies in this world - enemies that don't respond to negotiations, sanctions, appeasement or diplomacy. Enemies that consistently use the tactics of terror and murder. Enemies that have committed acts of war, terror and murder against Americans all over the globe since 1979. Enemies that have declared war against the United States. Enemies that threaten to topple our government and convert America and her people to Islam by force.
The liberals cannot quite grasp the notion that a country's leader may be capable of paying rewards for the indiscriminate slaughter of innocent people.
Or commit genocide on his own countrymen.
Murder whole families of anyone who allegedly threatens him.
Albert Einstein said it best - and he was as anti-war as anyone. If the liberals feel intellectually up to it, perhaps they can argue with his logic.
"The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing."

I was initially opposed to going to Iraq. Ironically, for religious reasons.
And that's when all the Democrats were in favor of going. Yes, the same ones crying now.
I have no problem with the removal of Saddam, but think we were too optimistic about Iraqis embracing democracy. And we underestimated Iran.
Now we need to take care of some things, and I am opposed to withdrawal of our troops.

Saddam was an evil/wicked man. I'm glad he was hanged. But, he posed no direct threat the our national security when we invaded Iraq. WMD's weren't the reasons either. We were just plain lied to.

Americans don't like being lied to. Especially when the real reason was to exchange American and Iraqi blood for war profits.
