Gun crime is reduced when the honest Citizen can fight back with equal or superior firepower. That is what criminals fear most.

Ever since the big British gun ban in 1997, violent crime and gun crime have increased annually, according to the Home Office reports. Home invasions by armed thugs, rape, muggings, crimes against the person... all the result of criminals being ensured that their victims could not shoot back.

Criminals support gun bans because when the public is disarmed they have dominance of force. They ignore laws, so they arm themselves.

So, other crime isn't a bad thing? That's interesting personally I would never want to be stabbed. I've been run over by a killer.

They have already banned firearms in the UK.

To an American, your gun laws are extremely strict.
Gun crime, I believe should be viewed as more of a social problem than a legal one, Canada has very little gun crime and guns are VERY legal there. I think instead of trying to enforge laws against firearms, maybe find ways to increase social pressure and education on the devastating effects inappropriate use of a firearm actually has.

Give your Law Enforcement Firearms and let your Citizens Carry Concealed (permit issued of course) and I'd be willing to wager that violent crime across the board drops.

Thought you guys already had. I heard you don't even allow your cops to pack heat. That probably has more to do with your soaring crime rate than anything else!
