Hello Tha A-Train,
First off, congratulation on your new iMac.
It sounds like you have the Voice-Over setting on. That's so the Mac will tell you what ever you move your mouse arrow over. Go into your System Preferences. Under the System heading click on the Universal Access and under the VoiceOver settings click on the Off button to turn it off.
Also in the System headings is the Speech settings, you can uncheck the check boxes for the "Announce when alerts are displayed" or "Announce selected when an application requires your attention".
And, while you're at it, ignore the Windows monkey boys above. Take it easy, and enjoy your Macintosh.

My boyfriends niece is 6 and does this. It feels like she's whining each and every of the time. at the same time as she tries to seek suggestion from me or him like this we continuously tell her that we do not search for suggestion from children. Or we merely say you aren't any further somewhat one so end speaking like one and refuse to respond to her questions till she talks in a classic voice. it really works for her.
