I cut my finger with a razor blade last month, and im not sure im up to date on my tetanus shot, i think i am, but not 100%. I cleaned the wound, then bandaged it, and then changed and cleaned it until it healed. I was wondering if i may have tetanus. I've been having neck pain for a few weeks, and some back pain, and i was wondering if i thats a side effect of having tetanus. I went to my doctor last week, but i forgot to tell him about it. they took blood for other reasons, two vials, and they did some tests, and they said im fine, nothing wrong with the results. Would Tetanus show up on the blood tests? Let me know. NURSE'S OR DOCTORS ONLY

1. No it won't show up on the blood test unless they were looking for it.

2. Teanus is a low risk if it was a clean cut.

3. Call your doctor back and tell him your concerns.

Your tetanus shot need to be done within 5 years of the wound for it to be effective. The fact that you cleaned and treated it well is a good thing. Tetanus is caused by a bacteria and that is like any other bacterial infection in suseptability. On set of symptoms will occur rather suddenly a few weeks to a month or so after you get the cut. The symptoms will be repeated clenching of your muscles (yes in back and neck but all over) from head to toe. There is an extremely small chance that you may be feeling these symptoms just in the back/neck alone but it will spread out to the whole body soon. It it does not improve with motrin/advil over the next day or two, I would call the doctors office and get some advice over the phone. Unfortunately the 2 tubes of blood he drew was not a tetanus test. For a physical type thing it is a cell count (that can tell you if you have an infection but just not specific on what type), liver function, and cholesterol.

Good luck.

A chest x-ray will be ready to inform if there is something out of line such as your ribcage. Do you've soreness interior the rib/chest area? Chlorine interior the water now and again causes hives, exceptionally in swimming pools and warm tubs. Having your bathe water too warmth may reason the pink blotches.

TETANUS IS MORE COMMON FROM STEPPING ON A RUSTY NAIL OR A SCAPE AGAINST A PIECE OF DIRTY METAL.
IT'S A GOOD THING TO HAVE A TETANUS BOOSTER ABOUT EVERY TEN YEARS.I WOULD NOT WORRY TOO MUCH UNLESS YOU WERE SHAVING WITH GRANDPA'S STARIGHT RAZOR AND HAD JUST PROCURED IT FROM A DUSTY BASEMENT.
