Middle English is the blend of the Old English which was mostly Anglo-Saxon and the French of the Normans lead by Richard the Conquer in 1099.

Middle English Happened because it was able to successfully admit and integrate many new words borrowed from what we call Norman French. " The Story of English" might be useful to you. Watch the segments of the series (at least those most pertained to your question) and read the chapters of the book.

If your requirements are of a political, social, or military bent, you should be able to find more than you can read on line with ease.

people dont reall y need to have a language and at first people took a long time thinking about one and writing it,

then the same people actuallt believed it would work and got the world ready to makle
everyone believe it was always around,

you see the people who wrote english had to not believe people would just play in the world with ryming things,
then last people use it like its everywhere
